Human Kindness

by Frankie Trujillo

Zest, hope, and humor,

That is what you need, yes,

Zest, hope, and humor,

That is what you need.

But without thoughtfulness and perseverance,

The best of you may never come to be.

And human kindness, human kindness.

Honesty and colorblindness,

That is what you need, yes,

Honesty and colorblindness,

That is what you need.

But without bravery and integrity,

The best of you may never come to be.

And human kindness, human kindness.

Gratitude and acquired wisdom,

That is what you need, yes,

Gratitude and acquired wisdom,

That is what you need.

But without hope and curiosity,

The best of you may never come to be.

And human kindness, human kindness.

A good sense of humor and fairness,

That is what you need, yes,

A good sense of humor and fairness,

That is what you need.

But without humility and forgiveness,

The best of you may never come to be.

And human kindness, human kindness.

Only you and only me,

Make human kindness come to be, yes,

Only you and only me.

Make human kindness come to be.
